Injection molding is widely used nowadays in many manufacturing industries such as in toys production, automotive part, electronic good and others. The very important advantage of the injection molding is that with it we can produce complex geometries in one production step in than automated process.

The factory that we had visited, they are producing the automotive part, component household part, and air conditioner part. The product we had chosen is Holding piece part. The product been manufactured by using injection molding and there are some secondary operations for ABS plastic parts for finishing process.
For this project, the 3D model and mold design were drawn by using Solidwork and VisiMold software. The mold flow of the mold cavity was done by using the mold flow software. The product material properties are taken from the CES software (Cambridge engineering software) and the material for the selective product is ABS polymer.
For our manufacturing product production, the machine that been used for the injection molding process is NISSEI PNX60 shown in figure below. The detail specifications of the injection machine are shown in the next report explanation.

Simple Mold Design using SolidWork software:
For the purposes of study we are only generating and contracting a simple 2-plate mold cavity. We were using SolidWork software to create the mold and the cavity for our product. Below are some steps in construction mold cavity which we had made.
